Stetson is available for offsite lease or sale to the perfect home. He is 15 hands and 18 years old and is currently boarded at a farm in altavista va. Pros: Stetson has great great ground manners and tries very hard to please. He goes out 24/7 but has been stalled before. He loves to be loved on and will do anything his rider asks once he is used to you. He has always been a barn favorite and is loved by anyone who meets him. Been ridden English, western, and bareback. Could be a great western pony if wanting to go that route. He is going w/t/c but still needs some help picking up his right lead and balancing his canter a bit more. Even when he does pick up the wrong lead though, he almost always changes it. He is still learning to give to contact but is doing very well with it. Has been ridden by beginners w/t and has been ridden by advanced beginners w/t/c. He absolutely loves to jump and has jumped up to 2’0. He always jumps even if the strides are wrong and is very forgiving of rider mistakes. He has been ridden bitless and has some experience bridleless too. He has loads of trail experience and is great for an advanced beginner to w/t on. He has been off property to one show before and did great. He also has some minimal XC experience and has crossed water and logs on the trails before. Cons: He comes with some maintenance and he is a HARD keeper. He is currently on a joint supplement and will need to stay on it if ridden much. He does have a roach back but it hasn’t effected him at all since I’ve had him. He gets along best with just a few other horses in the pasture and is low on the totem pole. He can be picky about riders so I would require you to come out and test ride him before leasing or buying him. I believe Stetson would be a great horse for someone just looking to do some trails or some low level dressage. I have videos of him being ridden by advanced beginners to professionals that i am willing to show to interested lessees. If you are able to look past his few quirks, I think he would make a great addition to your herd! I will require references of your vet and farrier and i will want to be able to see the barn he would be kept at.
