I owned and trained Rio’s dam for 12 years. She is 92% foundation bred. She was a go anywhere horse. Her predominant lines are Peter McCue, King, and Joe Hancock. Rio is her third foal, and has her disposition as well. He has always been a people horse, always wanting to see what is going on and get involved. He comes when called. He has had daily contact with people. Rio is currently on dry pasture with open stall access. He was started at two years old with no issues. He was brought along slowly and has a good handle on the basics. Turns on the fore and hindquarters. Two tracking, side passes, comfortable trot, and correct lead departures into a canter both ways. Has a nice headset, gives to the bit for collection. He has had plenty of work in the arena. He is broke to hobbles. He stands for the farrier, and is currently shod on the front. Rio has been on a pack trip to the Eagle Cap wilderness and packed various items, including bedrolls, and elk. He is very solid on the trail, alone or with others. Water is no issue. He has been hauled to Florida and back, has no issues hauling or loading. Rio has recently been exposed to cattle, and is ready to go any direction with ranch work. He has no injuries or lameness issues. Rio is a very well put together gelding. I get compliments where ever we go. He’s very smart, so I don’t recommend a beginner or novice rider. This guy oozes potential. He would make an excellent project for Cowgirl Cadillac or similar sale.
