Scratch has done it all: Beginner lessons, lead line, trails, gaming, parades, shows, 4H, Western, English, Dressage, Halter, Showmanship, and unofficial Therapy Horse to dozens of kids, teenagers and adults. Now, it is time for him to do less. He is looking for a new opportunity that will not put to much weight and stress on his front legs. This may be as a therapy horse, kid’s beginner first horse, Kids’ beginner lesson horse, lesson horse for Horsemanship and Showmanship, or even as a pasture companion that the grandkids can ride and play with while visiting. He has arthritis in his front legs that now pains him if ridden by an adult. That is his only fault. Scratch is as sweet and gentle as he is handsome. He loves kids and animals, being brushed petted and hugged. He is patient with new riders and loves to do ground work and patterns. He has a fun playful side and is very communicative with licks and chews or shaking of the head. Scratch is extremely well trained and mannered. He has no vices, easy keeper, barefoot, gets trimmed every 8 weeks, stands for farrier and vet, trailers well, never colicky. O bucks, rears or bolts under saddle. He’s got a lot of energy and years left in him to give love and experience to many more.
