Diamond Soul, otherwise known as Velvet, is a 3 year old bay Hanoverian mare. It’s really the perfect name for her because she has a Diamond Soul. She is 15.3hh currently and should mature to around 16.1hh. She is green broke but just a super girl. She is by Diamond Head out of a spectacular fourth level mare, and I have ridden her dam and she is one in a million. So fun to ride and hard to look away when you watch her work. She is brave and smart and fierce. She absolutely has her mommas spirit. Her sire is by Diamond Hit and has competed through Grand Prix with many awards along the way. This is the youngest of this cross that her breeder has done three times. Her two older siblings are extremely special and she will follow in their footsteps. The oldest sibling is competing at First Level with scores in the 70s. I love how her breeder describes them “they are only slightly more friendly than a golden retriever”. And that’s the truth. I started her and she was super easy to get on and just ride. She likes her lessons broken down into bite sized pieces and when you hand her information one bite at a time she never forgets a thing and you get to build every day on the previous session which is so fun and rewarding. She makes me feel safe (which I am an old lady now this is important to me!) and she is so balanced and smart she makes me feel super good at my job (I love a horse who makes me look smart I have plenty that keep me humble). She is very forward thinking, doesn’t need a whip or spur. Super balanced canter, gets her leads darn near every time with no struggle. Quick active hind leg and so comfortable, balanced and straight forward. We love her. Location: Sedro Woolley, WA. 1.5 hours north of Seattle.
