Waylon is a 12 year old grade Quarter Horse gelding standing a thick and chunky 15. 1 hands high. Waylon is an experienced trail master, a fun dressage mount, a well rounded ranch horse, and can even play around as a low level eventer or jumper! There really isn’t much you can’t do with this guy. He is safe, has seen the world, and knows his job… no matter if that job is in the show ring, or riding around the countryside. Waylon is an easy keeper, requires no maintenance, and is a solid citizen that everyone enjoys having in the barn! In the ring, Waylon rides both English and western. He is very well broke with all of the buttons you could ask for. Waylon has a true one hand neck rein, spins, stops, backs, and knows lateral work. His western and ranch work experiences carry over into the dressage arena quite well! He will ride on the buckle or carry himself in a frame, has great brakes, and listens well to both seat and leg cues. He is schooling first level tests with lots of room to move up the levels. Waylon will jump small courses and loves to go on hunter paces to jump logs, coupes, and other natural obstacles. On the trails, Waylon is nothing short of an expert. There is nothing you cannot do, and nowhere you cannot go on this horse. He will ride alone, in a group, pony, and even lead youngsters. He loves water and will be the first to cross streams or swim in the lake. We have ridden Waylon through town, in traffic, and even through the drive through for lunch! He is sure footed, calm, and always enjoys going on new adventures. He is used to loading up in the trailer and going for trail rides, camping trips, and hunter paces. He is the ultimate trail horse on any terrain. In the barn, Waylon is polite and easy to be around. He is happy living outside in a mixed herd, or being stalled. Waylon is handled by the children on a daily basis, and enjoys the attention he gets from them while being groomed, bathed, and loved on. He behaves well for the vet and farrier, and is always polite and respectful. He can be cautious of new people at first, but once he knows who his people are he is like a big puppy dog who appreciates all the affection he can get. Waylon is a well educated and well rounded gelding. You just can’t beat a safe and sane little horse that can do a bit of everything and do it well. He is sturdy and well built, comfortable to ride, and close enough to the ground that you can easily mount and dismount, even when you don’t have a mounting block handy. ?Waylon has no vices or limitations.
