Benni is a sweet, gentle 4 year old gelding from the Palomino Buttes HMA. I adopted him in February of 2022, so he is titled and does NOT require a BLM application. He’s tough to let go of because I feel so safe and confident riding him. Benni is good minded and not spooky. He was professionally started in November of 2022 and has been consistently ridden since then. He is easy to handle in new situations and has been ridden in grand entry practice, the mountains, the beach/ocean, through tunnels, and even on a 60 mile wagon train ride. He handled the bikes, wagons, trains, and parade through town well. He is respectful of single strand hot wire, which makes him super easy to camp with! Benni will thrive in a home that loves trail riding. He will happily lead or follow, is very sure footed, crosses water/bridges and can pony or be ponied. Benni is the bottom of the pecking order, so he might not do as well ponying a super dominate horse. Benni is not worried about being left behind and is total fine walking or trotting way behind everyone else while they canter ahead. He has been trail ridden by my very novice friend at both the front and back of the line. Benni has also been ridden in the arena and will w/t/c both directions, has a nice stop, backs, sidepasses, and moves shoulders/hips both directions. He has been ridden both English and Western. Benni would make a cute ranch riding horse and many horses from his HMA enjoy working cows as well (Benni isn’t scared of cows, but I haven’t asked him to push them). Benni has excellent ground manners and is easy to catch in a big field, ties, loads, blankets, great for the farrier, hobbles, fly sprays, easy to worm.. all the things. That said, because he is still young, an intermediate rider is recommended; however, this horse has the potential to be a rockstar youth horse in the further. Benni is an easy keeper and does great barefoot. Located in Burlington WA, but has a current Coggins and can be shipped. I will be hauling to Central Oregon Sept 1st and could bring him with me.
