Samson has been described as “one of those horses that gets people into horses.” He is truly a dream: beautiful, tough, sound, athletic, charming, bright, sensible, uncomplicated, and willing. Samson is a third generation Hicks family horse born on our farm in Georgia. By the Registered Irish Draught PHF Shanahoe out of the Hanoverian/TB Windsor's Esperanza (pedigree in photos).
Samson is well on his way to All-Rounder with lots of exposure and training. Schooling Beginner Novice, absolute delight for trailriding and hunter pacing. Steady, forward, easy-going, excellent babysitter type for younger, greener horses. An elegant mover, regularly schooling Training and First Level movements. A true attention-getter in every outing for his mannerly behavior, performance, and beauty.
Spent summer 2021 at Tamarack Hill Farm with a working student for Olympian eventer Denny Emerson. 2 months lessoning 6 days a week on flatwork, showjumping, cross country, and classical dressage with Lindle Sutton and Denny.
We have hunter paced all over the place with Limestone Creek Hunt. Sammy hunted first flight with Belle Meade Hunt in the past, before his tie-back surgery in December 2021 and before retraining with a dressage basis. We have also capped with Limestone Creek Hunt and Genesee Valley Hunt.
