Little G is our workhorse extraordinaire. Broke and trained by our very own Mariah, he's been with us for eight or nine years now and as sorry as we are to see him go, she's off to college and he needs a job we don't have the capacity to give him right now. If you wanna know a little more about Little G, here's the scoop: THE GOOD: WONDERFUL working horse. Willing. Been exposed to cows and loves working them. You can rope off him. He doesn't get tired and will work all day long. He has the work ethic of your grandpa's old '73 pickup that he changed the oil in every three months whether it needed it or not. Desensitized. Our ranch is busy. Little G has seen kids, cars, dogs, UTVs, deer, probably some drunk guys stumbling around a bonfire out back. Not much really bothers him. He's solid. Gets fat off air. Lives outside in the pasture and doesn't get any hard feed. Barefoot. Very easy keeper. Gets along well with others and knock on wood, hasn't yet managed to rack up a vet bill outside the usual. He's handy and knows all kinds of cool tricks. Wanna open a gate off his back? You can do that. He does reiner spins, sidepasses, and backs up. You can probably pony off him if you want to. He's probably the handiest horse we have on the ranch if I'm being honest. THE BAD: Little G needs an INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED RIDER. He's not your grandma's horse. He's not your six year old who's never been on a horse before's horse. He's probably not for your husband who can't ride unless you want to get back at him for not taking the trash out. He's not mean (actually he's got a wonderful disposition), but he WILL take advantage if he feels you don't know what you're doing. He needs a JOB, a real, at-least-three-days-a-week, wet-saddle-pad job. He'd love to be working cows or doing reining with some confident youngster. He's not for you if you want to trail ride once a month, he'll get bored and fresh and we want to make sure everyone's happy and we don't need to relist him three months from now. He wants to WORK. He wants ONE PERSON. We don't feel he'd thrive as a lesson horse, as part of a trail string, or in any other similar arrangement. We have some videos and pictures below.
