Raven is a 20 year old, 12.2 hand, black Shetland pony. He is a sweet, well trained boy who can carry a 50-65 pound rider. Raven is not your typical pony. He has competed in flat and jumping classes, he keeps a consistent speed and has done jump courses bareback and briddleless. He can free jump 2”6 and can do up to 1’9”to 2’ under saddle depending on weight of the rider. He is super safe for little kids and is good to teach the basics of riding. He is great for vet and farrier and around kids of all ages. He is one of a few that will really bond with you. He is very good when bathing, grooming and mounting (from block or ground) and can do any thing you ask of him. He has heaves (equivalent of Astha in people) and he is on hydroxyzine as a preventative. For leisurely work, he is unaffected but for competition and show, we limit his work to two jump courses. We also wet his way to minimize his dust exposure. Raven has been used in our educational program and lesson program where he has taught the passion for riding to many children. He also trailers easily and has done camping and trail riding. This is a very special boy who will bring your child immense joy. My niece has outgrown him but loves him dearly and will be involved in selecting the right partner for him. He has been used in our programs since she outgrew him but she has finally decided that she wants him to have another one on one partner to love and dote on him.
