Skye exemplifies Fell pony temperament, curious as they come, eager to learn, with a hardy disposition. She is glossy, graceful and athletic, meeting proper Fell pony breed standards for conformation. We have her full sister as well, both are seal brown. Skye was imported at her dam's side last year, while Faith was imported in-utero. Bybeck Victoria, their dam, is the niece to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's Bybeck Nightingale. Bybeck was one of the few true hill breeders, now retired. The Reggae King, Skye's sire, is starting to win some ribbons across the pond and is by Bowthorne Black Bobby whom is by Lunesdale Black Ice, Supreme Champion Stallion, FPS Stallion & Colt Show 2019 and out of my favorite UK based Fell mare residing at Lammerside, Stockleylane Annie, whom just won the Progeny class at the Fell Pony Society Breed Show in 2023. Bybeck Victoria's sire, Wellbrow Lancashire Lad, won Supreme Champion at the FPS Stallion & Colt Show in 2012 as a youngster. Yearling basics, leading, handling, haltering, picking up hooves, working with the vet have been done and are progressing and Skye is handled daily. Being reared at a large horse boarding facility, living out 24/7 on hilly pasture. Regular exposure to sights and sounds of tractors/large equipment and they both show a generous amount of curiosity and self preservation at the same time. At the age of 1 year, 7 months, Skye does obstacle work at liberty with +R training with ease, these lovely sisters work in tandem often, if not as a family of three with their lovely Mama Bear, Victoria, all willing participants. Skye lives in a herd with different ages of ponies, and is middle of the pack. Dam is very laid back. Both ponies are available, the one that does not sell first, stays with us. Forming a breeding program, so do not wish to keep full sisters, however, will happily do so if the perfect home is not found. They are only one year apart in age, and are identical. Dam, Bybeck Victoria’s lab work showed she is an FIS carrier. Could test the filly if requested, but if no interest in breeding, not necessary. Any fis carrier pony can breed with a non carrier without issue. Just cannot breed two carriers.
