Guthrie was bred by the Texas A&M university program and carries the university brand. He is by the 6666’s Guthrie City Limits (Sixes Pick by Tanguerey Gin) and out of a Smart Chic Olena mare. He has had a job on a large working cattle ranch in SE Texas for the last two and a half years. He has been roped off of outside extensively, doctored, branded, & put in countless miles in every kind of terrain. He's the kind you can put to a job with no funny business and know you can point him wherever you need to go and he will do anything he is asked. His patience & forgiving nature is impressive- even more so when you consider he’s only 6. He has lived in both pasture with other horses and in a stall. He is an easy keeper with no special dietary needs or maintenance/shoeing. Guthrie is exceptionally kind and quiet. He enjoys being handled and is easy to tie anywhere, haul, etc. He rides outside alone or in a group and has not shown any tendency to be herd bound. As for the arena, Guthrie rides super pretty and smooth at all gaits. He has a flying lead change both directions. He is started on the lead steer and showing every ability to be an exceptional team roping horse. I have started showing him in the Ranch Horse Open- Green Horse division and he has consistently placed top 5 of every class, including Ranch Trail, and in highly competitive classes. Even when seeing something for the first time or being taught something new, he is willing and eager to learn. Up to date on vaccines & shoeing. Pics & videos available
