Due to major life changes and no fault of her own I am considering finding a new home for Zuko (aka Kiah). I have owned and trained her for the past year and will only be considering a home that is a perfect fit! The good: ● She has had 100+ sessions in the arena with me in addition to hundreds of trail miles this summer ● Fabulous trail horse: has carried dozens of riders of all ages, sizes and ability levels. Crosses logs, water, etc. ● No lameness recorded over 365 days ● Vaccines and coggins done in July ● Extensive desensitization to all summer camp activities; hundreds of screaming children, cars, people in pools, hammocks, etc. ● Easy keeper ● Barefoot ● Bathes, loads, clipps, stands in crossties, ground ties (ish, it's a work in progress) ● Athletic ● Very smart and gentle, especially with small riders. Has been used for weekly pony rides with 50+ children ● More whoa than go, but is wicked fast and smooth at the canter ● Carries the dominant white 20 gene. I only tested for white patterning but she has some roaning and a dorsal stripe. If you're interested in breeding her I can get a full panel The bad: ● Way more whoa than go, to the point where she will test the rider ● Very bouncy trot. Her canter is smooth but fast. Has some difficulty maintaining canter ● She has anxiety: once she is comfortable with someone she is much better, but can still get wary if her handler comes on too strongly The ugly: ● History of rearing and bucking. Last rear (out of 5ish since I bought her) was in February. She's bucked with me twice, though the rearing seems to have been fixed. Last buck was in May in the arena when asked to trot away from her friends. I have done extensive work to fix the source of the problem, but due to her anxiety and low energy drive she will likely need more training to be 100% trustable in the arena. She has had 0 behavioral problems on the trail aside from eating grass when beginners are on her. I've ridden this mare all over camp's 300+ acres to do all my maintenance for the past year. We ran into some ground bees last week and she held it together long enough for me to instruct the others on how to do an emergency evacuation! 14.3hh, 13 years old est., grade mare Shipping Notes Willing to include shipping within 2hrs of Springfield, MO at no extra cost
