Dixie is a Tennessee Walker / Quarter Horse mix. She is gaited in her trot, gallop and canter making her very comfortable to ride. She is eager to please and loves to go fast. She stops well but we recommend an intermediate to experienced rider. She responds well and turns with the slightest change in body positioning / shifting of weight and barely needs reigns or leg pressure. In her previous lives we were told that she worked on cattle drives, gymkhana, barrels and trail riding. She is spook free and desensitized to flags. She even stepped into a gopher hole a year ago with my son on her back and she didn’t freak out, she balanced herself out to make sure my son wouldn’t fall off and pulled her leg out of the hole like it was nothing. She was recently shod under cover during a hail storm and didn’t move a muscle. She currently wears EasyShoe Versa Grip glue on shoes on her front feet. My teenage son used her for the past 2.5 years for trail riding but his interests have changed. She has a private stall near Stanley Lake Reservoir for $500/mo including feed and mucking. We have $1750 worth of tack that we will sell at a reduced price since the saddle and saddle pad are tailored specifically to accommodate her gaited movements. Please reach out if you’d like to check her out or want any other information.
