Bayo is a handsome 22 year old registered Half Arabian Gelding looking for his perfect person. He stands at 15.1hh and is a beautiful deep bay with big lovable eyes. He is a sweet guy who has a lifetime of both english and wetern show experience to teach and enjoy with his next owner. His last owner moved and was unable to care for him, so he was surrendered to us. He has spent the last few months getting more fit and healthy and is ready for his next step in life!
Health: Easy keeper, teeth floated Winter 2022, barefoot with strong feet.
Training: Professionally trained both western and english hunt and dressage, more whoa then go. Was show "A" Arabian circuit through 2019.
Personality: Sweet, gentle, can bit timid at times. Does better in small herds as he is low man, and can get picked on. Loves to be groomed and spent time with.
Life Skills: Loads, bathes and clips, ties and crossties like the perfect gentleman.
Current Living Situation: Stalled at night, small herd pasture turnout in the day.
Current Diet: Local hay and 1lb Triple Crown Balancer Gold, Actiflex Sr joint supplement.
Perfect Partner: Advanced Beginner or intermediate rider for western/english pleasure, and dressage. Would be great for 4H, or an adult amateur looking to get into showing pleasure or dressage. Not suitable for small kids as he needs a rider to help him stay focused at times. Has been a few group trail rides and seems to enjoy them.
Vices: Unfortunately due to his previous life of being locked in a stall too much, Bayo is a cribber. We easily manage it by covering the bars in his stall and he doesn't crib on feed or water dishes or while in the herd on pasture during the day. He does NOT currently wear a collar.
Maintenance: Bayo was recently diagnosed with cushings. He will come with his supply of Prascend.
