Butterfly Divine, or Devon in the barn, is a stunning perlino mare, purchased originally as a broodmare for our program. She is out of a Canadian Sport Horse Approved mare, by the Oldenburg stallion Romeo Divine. The colour comes from several famous lines that have contributed to quality dilute horses like Devon, worldwide. The names Blonder Hans and Morgengold 1, have produced many competitors, both in dressage and over fences. In addition, Devon boasts some significant R line names like Renier and Rubenstein, who have contributed both to her movement and excellent rideability. She has been presented to Westfalen and placed into the pre-mare book. Her 2022 Knabstrupper foal is registered through Westfalen. She could also be presented to CSHA and CWHBA. We did not re-breed her in in 2022, in order to get her started under saddle, as we believe it is important for our mares to pursue performance careers as well as produce offspring. Started in the winter of 2023, Devon has come along rapidly. She walks, trots, and canters quietly in a good balance, and loves to hack, alone or in a group. Starting over fences in the spring, Devon has really taken to jumping and is very brave cross country. She is confident with water, banks and ditches. She has a gorgeous scopey jump despite being still green. Devon attended her first few shows and attained a year end award in a Combined Test Series and won Year End High Point Dressage with her amateur rider on board. She will make an excellent and safe show horse for any level rider with a few more miles. She is safe for an amateur to bring along, or bring back to work later. She has been bred for a May 2024 Knabstrupper foal, by KNN lifetime approved, CCS Eomer who excelled in his performance test under his amateur owner. He has a good start eventing, and is working at 2nd and 3rd level dressage at just 5 years old. Eomer boasts prominent Knabstrupper pedigrees, as well as the dressage sire Dauphin. Devons in utero foal will carry a cream gene and both LP and PATN1, meaning the most likely presentation is a palomino or buckskin leopard, with great lines for both jumping and dressage. Devon can be sold in foal, or we are open to situations that allow us to retain the foal.
