This beautiful girl was raced 5 times as a three-year-old and then sold as polo horse for years and then sent to a rescue and sold after that to the owner I purchased her from. She pretty much sat for about 3years until I bought her in October of 2022. She is my first OTTB. I have worked with her consistently for the last year from the ground up, and I feel after working with her, she has past trauma from her track and polo days. I believe Dutchess was ridden hard in that previous life with ill-fitting tack and unkind hands. This is a sensitive girl who will do anything you ask as long as you’re both speaking the same language. I have come to realize that she is too much for me with my medical conditions and I don’t have the energy to keep up with her and to properly work with her consistently in the next phase of her training. Dutchess will thrive under the guidance of a confident, intermediate to advanced rider who embraces the spirited nature of a forward horse and should be able to bring her along with no issues. She loves her “person” and is extremely loyal. She is a “thinker” and has a beautiful soul. This girl has kind dreamy eyes and the looks to go in any direction. Her favorite treats are apples, carrots and being told she is a “good girl”. Her gray coat makes her extremely flashy, and colors just pop up against her. She will stand for the farrier and will stand for bathing, grooming, etc. She is calm, brave, the first to meet you at the gate and a joy to have. UTD on everything. No lameness or medical issues. Currently shod all around but they come off in the winter months. Could go barefoot but if only doing work on soft ground/arena. I am sad to have to part with her because of her sweet personality but I am no longer doing arena work (dressage, barrels, etc) and that is what she needs. Photos and videos are available. Thank you.
