Maverick is a 14 y/o 14.2hh grade bay quarter horse type gelding. He was rescued from a neglect situation 6 weeks ago. He was underweight, his hooves were in poor condition and he was having difficulty eating due to poor teeth. Since he's been here, he's had his teeth floated and been on a mash diet including supplements Cosequin, Equinity & RegenX.
He has proven to be very safe under saddle and extremely well mannered on the ground. He is blind in his right eye, but it does not bother him in the slightest. He has been on trails, worked in arenas, hauled to new locations, been cow sorting and done fabulous. He does all the normal things like tie, bathe, stand for farrier, etc. Maverick is much more go than whoa and almost rides like a gaming horse. He is very controllable but likes to be forward.
He will go with a new tub of Cosequin, Equinity and what's left of his RegenX. He has a new full set of shoes as of last week. He is not legged up and lacks muscle tone.
Without knowing his past history, I wouldn't consider him a good candidate for heavy riding. He is sound but should continue physical rehabilitation slowly and kindly.
Asking $2,000. This is a super star of a horse and someone is going to get a rock star.
