Available in Monkton, MD… See her video here: https://youtu.be/ZpKFrpQ8ews?feature=shared Writing this with a heavy heart, but looking for the right home for my 9yo registered QH mare, Willa (registered Whizkey N Lace). She is an AWESOME little horse…. I bought her in Kentucky as a 2 year old. She is 14.3 hands and reining bred (Sired by Whizkey N’ Diamonds who is out of Topsail Whiz…Google him!) and trained but has not competed in reining since age 3. She was started by Andrew Fox of Fox Performance Horses. She has mostly had off the last 3+ years as I had my third baby and sadly haven’t had time for her…also see next paragraph. Between her reining career and my life getting too busy, she was trail ridden quite a bit, did some basic liberty work and has also been a pony for my kids. She knows voice commands and neck reins. I have played around with bareback and bridleless and she was amazing. She is a very sensitive horse who wants to please. Goes both English and western. Now for the maintenance…. I am an open book and can answer any questions on this, but she has had soundness issues. She came up lame in 2020 and was diagnosed by MRI with a torn DDFT and very beginning signs of navicular. Also, in September 2022 she showed some slight hind end lameness and I had her right hock injected after the vet found a very small cyst on x ray. She was started on Equioxx at that time, but I since stoped it and she is doing great off of it. She wears orthopedic glue-on front shoes that I have redone every 8 weeks. She is finally ready to get back to work, I just sadly still can’t find time with being a mom of three very little kids. She needs to slowly be brought back into work and get back in shape. She deserves so much more attention than she is currently receiving…this is a horse who thrives on attention and routine. Stands tied. Great for baths and farrier, and she trailer loads wonderfully. She is a boss in the field but is currently turned out with one gelding and one mare and gets along with both. She absolutely loves her stall. She wears a greenguard muzzle seasonally as she is a very easy keeper and we have a ton of grass. She doesn’t mind her muzzle at all. Up to date on all vaccines. Does not have a current coggins. Teeth floated September 2023. New shoes done 10/17. Would prefer she keeps current farrier. Comes with 3 cleaned and waterproofed turnout blankets (rain sheet, medium and heavy). Also comes with her greenguard muzzle. She would best be suited for light ring work…she would excel at lower level dressage or light trail riding. I do not have to sell her, but I want to find her a good situation where she will be loved and get the attention she deserves. I will be extremely picky…references and farm visit required.
