Son House (aka Sonny) is a REGISTERED 7yr old Missouri Foxtrotter gelding. The proof is in the DNA…..Sonny is an OWN SON of the legendary stallion Southern Sunrise! Sonny is not a product of the 4Ps Horses breeding program but he has been here for a while and we have used him and ridden him through all kinds of terrain, traffic, and he's even been used to work cattle at the local sale barn. Sonny stands a solid 15.3 hands and has a very gentle nature about him. He is easy to catch and easy to saddle and bridle. He stands great for the farrier. He is going to be on the higher side in the pecking order in the herd. He has been turned out with up to 30 other geldings for extended amounts of time. I would not suggest Sonny for a beginner rider as he can be a little forward (no buck or rear) when fresh, so I really see him as just more of a step up horse for a confident rider. He has a good 4 beat gait and will go through the rough terrain on the trails and will not hesitate at anything you point him at. When ridden regularly Sonny becomes a jewel. We have many horses in training here at 4Ps Horses and with Sonny being a 7 yr old, he just doesn’t get the attention he needs. Sonny is more of a trail horse than a ranch horse. We take pride in making really nice ranch horses with all the bells and whistles and Sonny is just more in the trail horse category than the ranch horse category.
