This big, beautiful, stout dapple grey mare is looking for her forever family. She loves people and is quiet to be around. She is solid at a walk, will give jog and open trot, and with encouragement will lope. She struggles with her left lead but is solid on her right lead. Let’s be honest though, she would prefer to walk you anywhere all day. She stands to mount, has a solid stop and back, is starting to move off leg and neck rein, started on sidepassing and haunch turns. She is still learning some human expectations but generally stands quietly to groom, tack, trim hooves, bathe, leads, loads, ties, blankets. She can be pastured or stalled. We see this girl being a top notch husband horse and with some more time be a solid family friendly girl. Since being with Krystle’s Quarters she has been rode in the round pen, outdoor arena, hauled to an indoor arena, hauled to off site trails, been around dogs, tractors, quads, heard traffic and gunfire, and handled it all with grace. She had total beginners on her in the home arena and stayed quiet and calm. While we are not saying she is a solo beginner friendly horse at this time, she definitely will be soon. What she needs: exposure and miles. Not hard, wet saddle blanket miles, just miles. She was watchy on her first trail ride looking around her but not refusing to go forward or be spooky. She lead or followed but we mostly lead. The couple of times she slipped on the wet trails she was amazing at staying upright, gathering her feet calmly under her, checking on her rider and then moving on. She packed her rider like a seasoned pro! We went out on a windy day with helicopters flying low and gunfire on the next property over and she just took it all in. She does have a thing for water wanting to stop and play in every puddle. She has only been hauled a few times so was somewhat nervous in the trailer for the first few moments but with a hay bag settled right in. The last time she hauled she was by herself and handled it wonderfully. She has only spooked a couple of times and both times were in place and just looked around and resettled. She’s shown us she has a dang good mind. We were told she is currently a 6yo and was rounded up as a 2yo, unsure of what herd, and then went to a new home earlier this year with 30 days under saddle from the previous owner. She has been with a trainer for the last 4 months for a total restart. This is why we are saying she is a novice horse although she has shown us a seasoned mind. Full ad, photos and video on FB page.
