Dandy is a coming 5 year old gelding. He’s had 3 months professional training and is currently in weekly lessons. He’s been doing great and has come a long way! He isn’t trained in one skill yet but is seeming to enjoy loping the barrels and gaming events. (He probably is not gonna be super fast as he’s pleasure bred but would be fun if you just want to go play and enjoy a 3d/4d style horse) I could be wrong though as he took right to the barrels and really seems to like that. Pros* - He can take a month off and you can hop right back on him without even lunging first and he will act like he hasn’t skipped a beat. - big strong legs and body - can ride bareback -has done cow sorting multiple times - has gone horse camping and done great. Even rode him out without his horse friends bareback and he kept it together and was only a little nervous. -has stood tied all day at barrel races and even manages the hectic warm up pen really well -great for farrier, doesn’t have shoes at the moment. Always use front shoes in the summer for trail riding -fantastic on trails. Walks right out and prefers to lead but will go 2nd and 3rd in line as well -You can pony horses off of him and vice versa -not spooky, he might look around and eyeball things but that’s it -lunges easy -trailers great -smooth gaits with a big rocking horse canter Cons* -He’s a young gelding lol 😂 -meaning that he can be very in your space and needs redirecting at times -won’t bite but will nibble on your clothes and zippers - can get nervous in new situations so would need an intermediate rider to make every new experience a positive one. Only reason for selling is because my son now needs a roping horse and it would take too long for us to get this guy trained for that discipline. I bought him for my husband and I to use on trails and just playing around but now with my son wanting to compete it’s changed our direction. I’m even open to trades if you happen to have a roping horse (gelding) already trained in that discipline. $13,500 obo
