It's with a heavy heart that I am offering up my gelding. He would not be for sale if divorce did not force it.
Viggo hasn't had to do much in his 18 years of life and has very few miles on him. He has been sitting for a year and needs a refresher.
He is a typical drafty Fjord. He is short, compact and beefy! It also means he's smart, curious, busy minded, and can get himself in trouble!
Here's what you need to know about Viggo:
He is not suitable for therapy work. I bought him from a therapeutic riding facility where his nosey nature and toddler like need to put everything in his mouth (including equipment, clothing, volunteer's fingers...) got him in trouble. He isn't spooky and is fine leading a child around, but he needs a consistent handler who can tolerate his pony behavior.
He's a drafty Fjord and not a sporty one. He's not a dressage horse. Not even a western dressage horse. That was my plan for him and that plan didn't work. He spent a summer with a dressage trainer and it's not his thing. He will plod along a trail with a buddy though!
I have always thought he would be great at driving but I do not have the equipment or space to teach him.
He is a busy body and not super patient. He will probably paw while on the cross ties. Especially during mane trimming sessions.
He's not a kid's pony. He is 100% going to stop at the gate and not budge. He can also be a bit buddy sour sometimes and will try to make his way back to the barn.
He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, but that doesn't mean he's an angel! He's a stinker! But he's absolutely adorable and love-able. He will always come to you from the field. He always wants to be a part of whatever it is you are doing.
He is low man in the pecking order.
He use to crib when I got him 2 years ago but rarely does it now. It's usually after he eats a super yummy treat.
