Lucky is a flashy 17 year old sorrel gelding with a flaxen mane and tail. He has seen and done it all. He is mostly used for trail rides, has been ridden in Scottsdale’s Parada Del Sol the past 8 years, does fine on big group rides, been used on ranches and was a team roping horse (head side) with previous owner. Being around other horses he does not know doesn’t phase him at all. He walks fast, trots at the pace you set (slow or long trot), lopes in both leads and will also do flying lead changes. He stands for the farrier, in your pocket when you walk in the pen to catch him, loads in and out of trailers without any problems, hobble broke, neck reins, comes off your legs, you can open gates on him, easy to doctor, give shots, deworm, take his temperature.. This horse truly is gentleman with no vices. This is your ideal and very safe trail horse. Current owner takes him out on the trails alone all the time and has never had a problem with him. He is sure footed, been ridden throughout the entire state from Rio Rico, Tombstone, Payson, Prescott, White Mountains, Flagstaff etc. Lucky has experience camping out for multiple days and does well tied to a high line. The only thing Lucky does not like is when cows turn around on him and come towards him. He got horned pretty bad working cows in the corrals when he was younger and ever since then doesn’t do well in that situation. He has one discolored front tooth that has never bothered him and been looked at by the Vet. Recently had his teeth checked and sheath cleaned. Owner is selling because he wants a younger horse he can team sort and team pen with. I assisted the current owner purchasing Lucky in 2015 and have been around the horse all 8 years he has owned him. This is really is a great horse and a great opportunity for anyone looking to purchase a safe trail horse or a lesson horse. All Inquiries please Contact Tanner at 602-318-0023.
