Mikey is sired by the award-winning ApHC stallion "Undertack," a multiple Reserve World and National Champion. His dam, "Covered N Chocolate," is also a renowned National Champion producer.
This gelding was raised in a show barn and has been hauled and ridden at shows his entire life. Mikey has excelled in the ApHC ranch with overall high points, OHSET, and 4H. He’s an easy traveler—clips, bathes, stands for the farrier, hobbles, ties, ponies—you name it. He’s a solid ride with beautiful natural extension.
Mikey also has plenty of outside miles, having helped push cattle in the pasture, crossed large bodies of water, and done everything from being roped off of, dragging cattle, and carrying a flag. He’s experienced in mountain trail courses, confidently tackling water crossings and bridges and helping nervous horses build confidence with obstacles.
Though he does require light maintenance with hock injections and prefers a handy rider when showing (he’s got buttons galore), I’ve never had an issue putting a green rider or kid on him for leisure rides.
He’s been introduced to cows multiple times and could be a valuable asset to herd management—catty on cattle with a natural, driving work ethic. He can also collect up beautifully and make a stunning pleasure horse with all the hip and softness you could want. After spending the last two months in training, he’s ready to go to work when you are.
