Desert Promise (Athena) 7YO 16HH Bay Friesian X Oldenburg Mare Family & Grandma Safe Coggins & Clean X-rays from April 2025 Available Spokane, WA Respectable ground manners, easy to lunge, stands to be mounted, ties, bathes, and hauls well. Has always been barefoot with solid feet and stands great for farrier. Athena gets along with geldings and mares in a pasture setting. Wants to be around people and enjoys attention, she is the sweetest mare I’ve ever met. No health issues or soundness issues. UTD shots & teeth. Athena was started lightly by an amateur when she turned 4. After completing a year of professional training in our program, she is ready to find her new home. Athena has very smooth, consistent gaits and is nicely forward when requested, but she's also happy to just plot along in the arena or on the trail for hours. Rides english & western. Ridden off site at least 2x a week in different indoor/outdoor arenas and trails. She is NOT hot and remains consistently calm in her performance and attitude, whether at home or off-property, making her predictable in various settings. She is wonderful on the trail and will lead or follow WTC on the buckle. Athena can sit for weeks and be the same horse under saddle, no prep required. Consistent in the contact and soft off leg/seat aids. Currently ridden in a three-piece lozenge eggbutt bit. Athena has absolutely no bucking, rearing, bolting, or biting. She is our main lesson horse with beginner/intermediate youth and adults WTC and is incredibly trustworthy, I would put anyone on her. Currently confident jumping 2'6 with multiple riders and has not given us any refusals. She has been ridden on the XC course and jumped through water. She has shown in two dressage shows this year with youth & adult riders consistently scoring in the high 60’s and low 70’s.
