Aurther is a big guy with a bigger heart. He was a pony club horse and his rider has stopped riding, and he deserves a job and a partner. He is very willing to please and thrives on positive reinforcement. He is trained beautifully in dressage and all around he really wants his rider to be happy. We have had two teenagers ride him western and he did wonderfully for both. I would not recommend him for a beginner or young child, but for an intermediate horse handler or an adult he would be wonderful. He loves baths, lunges really well, picks up his feet, hops right in the trailer although he has not traveled much in the years we’ve had him. He responds well to a confident handler. He has been an easy keeper, occasionally we have upped his food in winter to add some weight and he maintains beautifully. My non negotiables for him are that he goes to a home with access to turn out, and that he has the ability to interact with other horses even if it’s through a fence. He loves to jump but has been treated for arthritis and so should take it easy with jumping if he jumps at all. He hasn’t received treatment or showed any signs of arthritis in the past 3 years he has not been jumping. For an intermediate to advanced horse owner and rider he would be an amazing, wonderfully trained partner.
