Everyone, I would love to introduce you to the Honky Tonk Man or as we call him Tonka! Tonka is a 10 year old 14.3hh Reg Chocolate Rocky Mountain gelding. I originally bought Tonka off a family in Eastern Tn who had bought him as a yearling. They had trail rode and carried him to fun shows all over Ky, TN and VA. I was lucky enough to be able to buy him back about this time last year. Their grandkids who had primarily rode Tonka for the last couple of years had gotten into running barrels. We kept him for about 6 months and ended up selling him to some folks in Michigan. Unfortunately life happens and because of some personal reasons they called and asked me if I could help them sale him. I have had him back here since right after Christmas riding and tuning him up. Pictures posted are current pictures from a week ago.
Tonka is a friendly boy, meet you at the gate personality. Likes to be groomed and loves attention. Easy to clip and bathe. Great for the farrier. Easy to saddle and bridle. Stands dead still to be mounted and will side step over to mounting block. Walks off slow and easy after being mounted. Tonka is super good gaited and a ball of fun to ride. Has a great canter as well. He a forward moving horse but a very controllable forward moving horse.
He is an outstanding trail horse. He will go wherever you point him without hesitation. Crosses all types of water, slippery rocks and fallen trees. It doesn’t get to rough for him. Wildlife and livestock safe. Great in traffic or busy environments.
