Serria is still slightly green: she is quiet and doing well in the following, Forehands, Haunches, side passes over poles, backs through ground poles, lounges, two-tracks nicely. She has recently learned how to open and close gates. She has a nice slow walk, nice jog trot, her lope/canter is coming together, I didn't start loping her till late last summer. I didn't feel she was quite ready to lope till then. I think that I have about 60 or so days on her. She clips, bathes and is current on deworming, shots and farrier work.
A couple of things I learned from her previous owner when I purchased her a year and half ago. They started her around the age 2 1/2. If I remember correctly, they had about 90 days of professional training done at that time. Then was put out to pasture after her previous owner was unable to finish due to a personal injury around the age of 4. She had been a pasture horse until I purchased her in 2023. Since I have owned her, I've learned that she is an amazing horse and wants to learn. My young granddaughters can ride her without assistance, and they feel safe on Serria, and you will too.
She loads in the trailer fine but has not had many opportunities to practice more. Her pasture friends are our cows and some sheep (separated by another fence), barking dogs, do not brother her. I think she would make a nice trail horse, or even a nice show horse if given the opportunity.
You may be wondering. why I am selling such a wonderful horse, the truth is, I bought Serria, after I had to put my 11-year gelding down. Unfortunately, I've learned that I have sadly lost my desire to continue riding. Serria is a great horse and deserves to have her best life.
