Fancy athletic grade filly Poppy will be 3 years old this September. She currently stands 14.2 hands. Her mother is a 15-hand Quarter Horse rescue; Poppy was a sweet surprise that came a few months later. Since birth, Poppy has been handled and is super friendly, easy to catch, ties, and enjoys a good brushing. At 2 years old, she was started at KB Quarter Horses. Kayla put 60 days of groundwork and preparation on her before riding her under saddle, starting in November 2024. Poppy was a quick learner, progressing nicely; she's smart and smooth! She neck reins, side passes, and stops on a dime, with a good back-up, extended trot, and effortless canter in both directions. She knows her leads, moves off your legs, and can lope with speed or slow.
Poppy's owner has had some unforeseen life changes and now needs to rehome her. She wants Poppy to find her forever home now that she has a solid foundation. Poppy is quick and athletic, so a perfect match will be someone with some good experience to help her achieve her full potential. She has a great mind, but she's young and reactive. We think Poppy would excel at reining, ranch riding, barrels/speed events, English/dressage, and even cattle work. She has been trail ridden a few times by herself and has done well. She's going to make someone an amazing horse with whatever direction you decide to take her!
