Diesel is one of those rare horses that’s just plain easy to love. He’s been a huge part of our family, and the only reason we’re parting ways is because life is pulling us in a different direction. If things were different, he wouldn’t be going anywhere. He’s gentle, dependable, and truly one of the safest horses we’ve had. My husband—who doesn’t ride—has felt completely comfortable on him, and my kids have used him for just about everything under the sun. Diesel has been their go-to horse for 4H and has done: Western Pleasure English Pleasure Competitive Trail Trail Rides Groom Squad Showmanship Plus he’s patterned in western games and knows the drill. He also has participated in cattle drives. He’s currently being used as a royalty horse, traveling all over the Pacific Northwest for parades, rodeos, and grand entries. He trailers great, stands tied like a champ, and doesn’t get rattled in new places. That’s where he earned his nickname “Steady Eddy”—he’s just calm, solid, and takes everything in stride. Diesel also does well for bathing, clipping, and the farrier. He’s experienced, level-headed, and a true gentleman under saddle. The only thing to note is that he can be a little bossy with mares, but we’ve always managed that easily by giving him his own paddock or turning him out with geldings. If you’re looking for a horse that’s steady, versatile, and family-friendly, Diesel might be the perfect fit. He’s got the kind of foundation and temperament that make him a great partner for all kinds of riders. Come meet him and see why he’s been such a special part of our lives.
