OTTB mare, 15 years and 17 hands Don’t let the chestnut mare scare you away she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body! She is perfect for the farrier, the vet, bodywork, dentist. Anyone can lead her or work with her (she loves children and has been handled by all 4 of my boys ages ages 15-5) She is always first to come trotting when she hears you coming and always meets you at the gate. She ground ties, and loves liberty work; is trained to go to the block for dismount. Self loads into any trailer, and loves to go for a ride. Rides in a simple snaffle. Her preference is western but she has been in a dressage program for 2 years. The consistency and rigors of a program and dressage training are a bit much for her; She is best suited for an intermediate or experienced rider with soft hands. This decision does not come easily. This horse has my whole heart but she isn’t happy doing what I’m doing and it’s time to let her take a step back, and live the good life. She has extensive trail experience. She likes to follow out and lead home. She is a mountain goat on tough terrain and has ponied many trail newbies in the past. She has 3 really beautiful gaits. Does lateral work, leg yielding both directions, turns on the haunches, forhand, bows, loves a good carrot stretch. She is not excitable when other horses react around her, and isn’t phased by wind, loud noises, horns, or barking. No vices. Happiest with 24/7 turnout (alone or with a friend). Recent images upon request. Currently in fronts and barefoot behind. Asking mid 4 figures
