Offering for sale to a good home, Beauregard - a drop dead gorgeous dun gelding with a heart even more golden than his coat! This stunning gelding has that rich buckskin coloring that catches everyone's eye, with a prominent black dorsal stripe, accented withers, and high black points with bold tiger stripes! "Beau" also has a great personality to go along with his looks, great conformation and a solid pedigree. He meets you at the gate every day and dips his nose in a halter (even in large turnout areas! ), loves attention and to have his face held. He is always eager to please, learn, and grow in what you teach him. Beau gets along with other horses, but is more interested in working for his rider and handler than anything else - so "buddy sour" is never an issue with him. Beau rides beautifully with fluid gaits, a lovely jog and slow lope, and big stops. He is very soft in the bridle, collects and lowers his head like a reiner when asked (new skill as of late!). He also knows how to pivot, side pass, yield his hindquarters and backs up slow and steady or gives you big responsive steps if asked. He's athletic enough to go into any discipline, from roping and barrels to western dressage and trail classes or just to love and enjoy as a big and beautiful pasture pet and riding companion. He has been lightly started on the barrel pattern (trot/lope) and western dressage and arena trail work, all of which he does beautifully. Right now Beau's favorite speed is relaxed, and is considered slightly more “Whoa Than Go”, but will pick things up if you so choose to take him the speed event route. His large 16.1 hand stature gives him the ability to stand out and excel in just about any direction you could take him. Beau is 9 years old and has had about 6 months of professional training. He is currently receiving fine-tuning training with at Unique Horsemanship, who is also handling his consignment. He rides nicely and has fabulous groundwork manners and natural horsemanship training equivalent to Downunder Horsemanship's Intermediate Level Ground Work. As for pedigree, Beau checks off that box too! Five times in Beau's pedigree he goes back to outstanding ranch and arena sire, Blue Valentine; Voted one of the all-time top ten ranch sires in AQHA history. His pedigree is subsequently packed with 100% FQHA bred and Hall of Fame horses, performers and producers like his grandsire, Leo Hancock Hayes who sired nearly 500 foals who were all used for ranch and rodeo work. Rowdy Blue Man - a talented tie down roping performer known for his exceptionally good mind and disposition. Gooseberry - 100% Foundation Quarter Horse. Red Man - SI-85/AA/ROM Race, ROM Arena, ROM Roping, NCHA earnings. Leo - 1989 AQHA Hall of Fame, AQHA Race SI-75/AAAA Sire. Sire of 548 AQHA foals (1944-1967) with 409 performers including 5 Hall of Fame inductees; Supreme Champion Leo Maudie; Many World Champions in Performance & Halter. ***Contact us for his full write up!***
