Tale of Dixie (Tod) is an OTTB who has never known any kind of speed. He has competed through Starter level eventing with my students and has been ridden by everything from a brand new beginner to an intermediate/advanced rider. He has schooled Novice fences but can still be a bit green with water and ditches. He’s quite lazy, and would likely do best in the hunters, but he is capable of being an eventer for someone who prefers a slower moving guy. His only quirk is that he will tend to kick/get grumpy about being asked to canter if he isn’t doing so regularly. He’ll get used to being a walk/trot horse and then protest when he’s asked for more. Otherwise he is a pretty solid citizen. No soundness issues I am aware of. Always the head of the herd. He’s currently barefoot and can be in a mixed herd. He’s only available because I relocated and have decided not to restart my lesson program at my new location. I prefer horses for myself m with a bit more spice, and he just isn’t that. Asking $5,000 until he is back in shape and showing again. Then his price will increase as I get him out and about myself. Open to reasonable offers. He was adopted originally through After the Races, so the new owners will be connected with that program. Video: https://youtu.be/hguMGf9StW4?si=nbYDAgdcZ-geN9PW
