Update; as of 6/17/25 Roxy has had a PPE and X-rays. Records are available to interested parties. Roxy is a well-built, sweet 2017 APHA mare who I’ve owned for the past four years. She’s broke W/T/L in the arena—knows her leads, side-passes, backs, haunch turns, neck reins, goes in a snaffle or a curb, etc.—and has done well for me in the hills. She’s very soft and responsive with a ground covering walk and lot of go. She would likely go all day and out walk all the other horses while she does it. She’s easy to handle on the ground, gets along well in a herd (low on the totem pole), loads, stands tied, and is great to saddle and bridle. She’s up to date on everything—vet, teeth, farrier, and vaccines. She is also 5 panel negative. That said, Roxy is best suited for an experienced, soft rider. She can get hot, particularly in the arena, and needs someone confident and quiet to help her through that. I believe she’d really thrive with regular work and a job that engages her mind. I could see her enjoying riding out in the hills, possibly pushing cows/sorting, or anything that keeps her mind engaged. While she’s been a joy to own in many ways, we haven’t meshed under saddle, and I believe she deserves a rider who matches her energy. She’s only 8 and has many good years ahead—she just needs the right fit. I could also see her excelling as a broodmare given her nice sturdy build. She has given me four wonderful years, and this is a difficult decision for me, but I need a horse with a little less go. Roxy deserves to be someone’s partner, not just sit on the back burner. Price is OBO and a good fit is most important. Please feel free to reach out for additional photos/videos or to set up a time to meet her. Located in Ontario, Oregon
