For Sale: Hes Zip N Along “Chaco” ⭐️ 6-Year-Old APHA Gelding 📍 Located in Olympia, WA 💰 5,500 obo I’ve owned Chaco since he was 2.5 years old (November 2021). I’m an amateur rider and have ridden him on the trails around the Moses Lake Potholes, participated in several drill practices, carried a flag at a walk, hauled him to lessons, and done plenty of groundwork with him. He is extremely intelligent, curious, and has boundless energy. Earlier in his training, Chaco was incredibly bold and confident. He showed a lot of try and forward thinking. However, through different hands, he developed some anxiety and reactivity. In the past couple of years, this has shown up as defensiveness, rearing, striking at flags, and biting at handlers when uncomfortable. Since then he has been making progress and is much less defensive. He is currently in professional training in Olympia, WA, where the focus has been on building confidence and trust through groundwork and thoughtful under-saddle work. With continued empathetic and skilled handling, Chaco has the potential to return to being the brave, confident partner he once was. The included video shows several years of work with him, starting in 2023. On March 11th, Chaco was scoped and diagnosed with grade 1 gastric ulcers. He completed 30 days of sucralfate and GastroGard treatment on April 18th. His behavior noticeably improved after treatment. He is currently maintained on sucralfate. Chaco would do best with a confident, experienced person who can offer him time, consistency, clear direction, and a solid program. He would likely thrive with a strong connection to one person. He is very social and wants to make friends with everyone, so I suspect he would benefit greatly from turnout with a calm, confident herd. UTD on teeth, vaccines, and deworming 5-Panel Negative Regular farrier care, currently shod in front since October 2024 (he tends to be a bit foot sore without shoes) 💬 Price reflects both his behavioral history and the anticipated cost of ulcer treatment. 📩 Message me for more!
