Brooks is a six year old BLM mustang. He was gentled through the Teens and Oregon Mustangs competition as a 3 year old, and sold through that sale. The people that bought him didn't get along with him, and they sent him to a trainer, who sold him to the people we got him from. Brooks has had a lot of exposure! He's been ridden out on trails, through water, up and down steep and rocky places, and been loped out in the sagebrush. Brooks is sure footed and has always been sound. We've used him to move cows and check on them as well. Brooks has also been ridden in the arena extensively. He isn't spooky and is good about going to new places. He is a really pretty mover and is soft and responsive in the face and in different kinds of bits, snaffles, shanked bits etc. Brooks isn't hot, but he can go all day if needed. He trailers, bathes, hobbles, has great ground manners, and is great for the farrier. He's fun to be around and has a sweet personality, as well as being a handsome boy. With all that said, I wouldn't recommend him for a beginner. He needs to be ridden consistently; if he sits for a couple weeks its best to lunge him before riding. He doesn't buck or bolt, just gets hyper with too much time off. We're sorry to see him go but we're downsizing horses a bit before I start college this fall! Videos available on request.
