Onyx – 14.1hh, approx. 14-year-old Devil's Garden BLM Mustang mare. Located in Vancouver, WA. Looking to re🏡 due to life circumstances. I had intended to use Onyx for endurance and trail riding, but I'm no longer able to keep her. She’s been lightly used in a beginner adult lesson program, both on the ground and under saddle—primarily walk/trot lessons. She round pens and lunges well. While not fancy broke, she knows the basics and will get you where you need to go. Onyx is very sweet with people. She is not a bucker, kicker, or biter. She goes both English and Western, but prefers English and bitless. She loves being outdoors, prefers trails to arena work (though she’ll do both), and has shown interest in ground poles and low jumps. With more training, I think she could make a nice little jumper. She’s an easy keeper and is currently on local hay. She has excellent feet, is good for the farrier, and is currently barefoot. UTD on shots with no known health issues or maintenance needs. She's been sound the entire time I've had her. Best suited for an advanced beginner or a beginner working with a trainer. She’s more whoa than go, but she can absolutely move out when asked. She’s a lead mare but not particularly “mareish,” and has been very consistent since I got her in December 2024. She bonds strongly with her person. Her few quirks—trailering (needs some bribery), clipping, and spray bottles—are all being worked on and improving. I would prefer to send her with all her gear. Primarily her Tucker Endurance saddle, which fits her well. She also has a custom padded leather halter by Royal Legacy Custom Leather (she’s between cob and standard horse size), a couple of extra halters (nylon and rope), a blanket, fly sheet, and her biothane sidepull. Price will depend on if she goes with or without her tack.
