Blue is sired by 8-million-dollar reining stallion Gunners Special Nite and out of a Hollywood Dun It/Smart Chic Olena mare. Blue is a NRHA money earner with limited showing. From the show pen to the mountains of Wyoming, to gathering cattle in the desert of southern Utah, there is not much that he has not seen or done.

Blue has been a part of our family since he was a yearling. He has never taken a lame step or had any health issues. He has had regular worming, trimming and dental care. Started as a 2-year-old on a guest ranch in the Tetons of Wyoming, he was used daily to wrangle the ranch remuda, lead trail rides over bridges, across creeks and through herds of Elk, Moose and Bear, even the dreaded back packers. He has been packed and has led a pack string; all the while being developed as a reining performance horse. He has been used for trail riding every winter in southern Utah, and the last two winters ridden by an 87-year-old woman. I have used him to gather cattle, sort pairs, rope and drag calves. He is easy to catch, clip, shoe, lunge, deworm, clean his sheath without drugs, drag a log, hobble, lowers his head to bridle, side passes up to a mounting block, you name it! Trailer loads exceptionally well, back him out or lead him out. He goes wherever you point him without questioning. He maintains his ideal weight easily. Turn him loose for a month or two, catch him up and go to work. Ride him out by himself or in the middle of a trail ride with unfamiliar horses or mules.

Blue is a big pretty mover in all the gaits. He walks out nicely but is happy to slog along when necessary. He has a huge extended trot but will come back to a jog with the slightest cue. He does all the reining maneuvers very well. He has all the tools to do Ranch Versatility or Western Dressage or just be a faithful companion that everyone can safely ride and enjoy.
