I adopted Cruise on March 1st for the MYWY Mustang Madness Competition. I have spent the past several months training him, teaching him all the basic domestic horse skills and getting him started as a riding horse.
In just 4 months he has gone from never being touched to one of my most trusted riding partners. He is always game to try new obstacles, hit the trails and even attempt riding“bridle-less.” He is such a gem!

He has a lovely walk, trot, canter and is naturally balanced and cadenced throughout all 3 gaits. He willingly offers flying changes in both directions and has a really nice simple change, as well. He can side-pass, backup, haunch turns and the beginning of leg yields.

He also is an excellent trail mount as he loves water crossings and exploring new trails.
He is a more push style ride and the perfect amount of chill and calm. He is still green and will need more rides and training but definitely has potential to be amateur friendly down the road.

Be impressed by this guys exceptional ground work.
He leads, lunges, stands tied, stands to be washed and fly sprayed, and is good with his feet.
His biggest struggle is…he takes a minute to warm up to new people.
He will give a big side-eye to strangers and needs a minute to relax.

Overall this is one cool horse and whoever takes him home is going to be lucky person!
