$ 3600 FIRM. Just turned 10 years old, healthy, sound, and fast! 10 years old, 16.2 hh Wilt (aka Bahamian) is a beautiful sorrel Thoroughbred gelding. Won a fair amount of money on the track, and since then has done ranch work. PROS: Loads, hauls, ties, stands for farrier, friendly, likes people and will follow you around. Seems to land in the middle of the herd. Healthy and sound. Big motor. Super fun for anyone who likes to go. He will slow/stop when you ask him to, but if you want to go, he’s there for it. He’s honest, tries hard at everything he does, and works hard. He’s an intelligent horse who wants to please. Gentle and friendly with kids. When I let my 7-year-old ride him, a dog ran up and bit him on the leg, and he didn’t budge! He shook the dog off and stood still. Could have been a serious incident with a different horse. That being said, I would not recommend him as a kids horse because he has some serious go. A confident and experienced older teenager would be okay. CONS: Big motor, can have a big lope when he’s excited, but he responds well if you ask him to slow down. Does best with a confident, assertive rider. Can get hot, but if you are confident and consistent he’s great. He’s a little buddy sour at times, but if you can focus him on his work, he does fine. He could use a little fine-tuning, but he is very broke. He just doesn’t do anything fancy. In 2019, he had a left 3rd carpal sagittal fracture, so he had surgery and a screw was put in. He has a small scar on that leg. But he has put in long hard days ranching and has NEVER shown any sign of lameness. I would not recommend him for jumping or hard gaming, but other than that, he could handle anything. X-rays/PPE welcome at buyer’s expense. I want to sell this horse to someone who will take good care of him and will actually ride him. He’s not a horse you have to ride every day, but he has a lot of good years ahead of him and deserves to make progress. I want to find the absolute best fit for him, so I will not hold anything back about his pros and cons. He’s going to be an amazing horse for the right person.
