Bear is an 18 year old 17.3hh Percheron gelding who’s broke to ride for beginner riders with some basic horse knowledge and comes with all his stuff (tack, boots, halters, sheet, 100g & 200g blanket ect)! A lot more whoa than go, but once you get him started he has a lot of trot stamina! He’s been ridden in an English saddle, western, bareback, double and has been extensively road ridden, trail ridden & river ridden by total beginners. Bought him from a trail riding stable, used to all different kinds of people and level of experience. Loads good and has been trailered out to several parks in southeastern Michigan for all day rides. He’s got a curious personality and friendly, but can be pushy, like most drafts, if foods involved! He stands for farrier (no stocks needed) and vet, tied, crosstied or picketed. He has been exposed to everything from deer, water, bridges, dogs, kayakers, traffic & bicyclists. He was bought for my beginner rider boyfriend, but between work and other chores to be done, he doesn’t get the time to ride much if at all. It isn’t fair for him to sit around all day, almost everyday and do nothing. Medium/low on the pecking order; where we got him from he was the low man on the totem pole, at my house he wants to be the boss to my small horses so he is in a separate paddock since I have a lamanitic pony and an older gelding. Being a large 1,500lb+ draft he is fairly easy to handle on the ground, but I recommend a rope halter or having a stud chain around in case he gets a little pushy! PPE and Coggins done on him when we bought him in November, teeth floated middle of November, spring shots UTD in May, trimmed couple weeks ago. Does well in a stall or 24/7 pasture. Can show/give all records!
