Flashy 5-Year-Old Gelding – Draft Cross foaled June of 2020
Boots is striking, standing 16.2–16.3 hands and weighing approximately 1,400 lbs. He is 1/2 Quarter Horse, 1/4 Shire, and 1/4 Brabant, bred by FH Ranch Horses (Lemhi, ID). He has an excellent mind and a kind, willing attitude.
He has had 5 months of professional training (2 months last year, 3 months this year) and being ridden approximately 1-2 times a week, sometimes more. Currently working on collection and refining body control. He shows good suspension and has strong gaits.
Boots has experience in a variety of activities including trail riding, mountain camping, trail obstacle courses, cow sorting, light jumping, arena work, and beach rides. He is forward and responsive in the arena, yet quiet and relaxed on the trail. He rides out alone or in a group and remains level-headed. Athletic, sure-footed, and impressive for his size.
He has a sweet personality, enjoys having a job, and has potential for multiple disciplines — he would be especially eye-catching as a dressage prospect.
Excellent ground manners: bathes, ties, hauls, and clips.
No vices, no maintenance.
Sound, healthy, barefoot-friendly with good feet. Up to date on vaccinations and very well cared for.
He is safe and sensible but still young. May consider a beginner rider/ husband home if you are working closely with a more experienced horse person and are a confident rider with good balance. I will be selective to ensure the right match for this special horse.
