9-year-old Mustang Gelding – 14.2 hands
Meet Hombre, a handsome blood bay Mustang gelding with looks, presence, and the sweetest personality. At 9 years old and 14.2 hands, he’s a trail rider’s dream—balanced, strong, and surefooted, with the kind of quiet nature and common sense that make him easy to be around and great to work with.
Hombre is built like a 4x4: sturdy, powerful, and with excellent bone. True to his mustang heritage, his feet are rock solid—unless you’re always on rocks he’ll likely never need shoes. This handsome gelding has tons of common sense, knows where his feet are and carries himself with confidence.
He’s also a total lovebug. Easy to handle in every way, Hombre has had years of slow, gentle handling, he’s impeccable in his groundwork, unafraid of ropes/objects, hauls well (alone or with company), bathes, grooms, and stands quietly (tied or untied) for hours. He’s a farrier’s dream, enjoys turnout or stall life, and gets along beautifully with other horses. Independent and relaxed, he has zero separation anxiety. Oh yeah, and he likes cows!
And yes—he’s a head-turner. Everywhere he goes, people notice him. I’ve never owned a horse that draws so many compliments. His handsome look, coloring and presence make him truly unforgettable.
Hombre is currently in full-time training with about 60 days under saddle. He’s super strong but still a sensitive guy, the kind who will do anything for you if he trusts you. But he’s still green, so he’ll need an experienced and confident rider/trainer to continue his education. He’s definitely best with consistent work and a job to do—whether that’s in the arena, on the trail or ranch.
The right person for Hombre is someone who needs a horse to ride often, can offer a forever home, and has the skill and patience to bring along a mature but green horse. Someone who wants to build a deep bond with an incredible partner who is intelligent, kind, capable and willing.
