Peptoboons Cash Missy (barn name "Star") is a 2024 AQHA blue roan filly bred and raised at our ranch in central Texas. You can't get much better background for a versatile western riding/working horse than Star. Her sire is an own grandson of Peptoboonsmal by Yellow Roan of Texas. He also has some nice racing blood on the bottom lineage back to Dash for Cash and Nu Chex to Cash. Star's dam breeding is also heavily influenced by Peptoboonsmal, combined with with foundation cow horse breeding from the historic Hankins, Waggoner, and King ranches. Any kind of cow or rope work is right in her wheelhouse judging by her breeding and demeanor. Star is solidly built but agile with a big square hip and straight legs - traits that give her the ability to move off of her back end and keep her front end light. Star is just green broke but she is already showing us she will be a willing mount. She is used to being handled - she leads, loads, unloads, stands tied and hauls quietly in the trailer, warms up to cues in the round pen. We have washed, groomed, and trimmed Star. She tolerates being sprayed for flies and stands still for saddling. She is learning new things every day and has been very calm about all of it ...no buck, no bite, no kick. We raise our foals out on grass with their dams for 6 full months, penning them up and working with them a little at a time, then turning them back out. This filly is used to the sights and sounds of the pasture and the pens at the barn, she is also fit, not fat, as she hasn't been stalled up and grained. Star will most likely make a full 15hh as she continues to grow and broaden out like her parents. Right now Star is ready for you to take her schooling to the next level. We definitely have Star in learning mode right now and she is ready to learn to do it all - and do it all your way.
