Peptoboons Cash Missy (barn name Star) is a 2024 blue roan filly homebred and raised here on our ranch. You cannot get better backgrounding for a cow horse than Star - her sire is an own Peptoboonsmal grandson on the top side. Though her a performance champion, he also contributes some speed - his dam was bred from the Dash for Cash line. Star's Dam, Pepto Dosie, is a big gray mare with Peptoboonsmal in her top line, and some of the best foundation breeding from the historic Waggoner, Hankins, and King ranches remudas, including Driftwood, King, Colonel Freckles, San Peppy, Three Bars, and Leo. Star is solidly built but agile, with a big square hip, straight legs, and correct conformation so she already is showing us some nice moves when she gets worked in the round pen - moving off her hind end naturally with a little collection. This filly is willing to try new things and has spent lots of hours saddled and tied watching the other horses work. She has been handled plenty - she leads, ties, loads, hauls quiet in the trailer, and knows commands in the round pen. We have washed, groomed, combed out her mane and tail, picked up her feet and trimmed Star. She tolerates a fly spray bottle and stands still for saddling. She is learning new things every session and she stays calm and willing...no bucking, no kicking, no biting. Star ran out on pasture with her dam for a full 6 months, then was moved to another pasture and weaned with the other colts, not kept in a stall, so she is fit and trim - not fat. She will be at least 15 hh and broaden out with lots of muscle, like both her dam and sire. For right now she is ready for you to continue her education on the ground. She is in learning mode and she is ready to learn her job like you want her to...
