Alex is a beautifully marked chestnut gelding with a blaze (star and stripe, snip) and 3 white stockings. He looks like a parade horse. 15 hands tall. Alex's age is 10 (previous owner) and 15 (veterinarian's dental assessment). Alex walks right into the trailer, stands quietly for the farrier, has a good stop on him. Easy to catch; comes right up to the gate. Follows me around the paddock. Alex seems to be familiar with carrying the flag so I think he may have been a flag horse. Visit my webpage for photos and 2 videos, one video shows bridling, tightening the girth, walking with a Flag, and riding (copy and paste this URL or click the link at the bottom of the ad): http://sycamoremeadowsfarm.com/alex.html I bought him in July 2025. The seller was using him for roping. The seller said that Alex had been at that stable in Shandon for 4 years. He said that prior to that, Alex was with the dancing horses in Paso Robles and that Alex came with a spade bit with a huge port. Alex has a lot of suspension, and his trot is bouncy. To be interested in Alex, one needs to enjoy a horse with suspension, a bouncy trot. Reason for selling: His bouncy trot and he spooked with me. Alex was advertised as a Ranch and Trail horse but I don't know Alex's experience on trails, I have only ridden him at my place. I took Alex to Eric Wagner's, who is an Arabian horse trainer (and other breeds), in Arroyo Grande, Ca. He worked with Alex for a 2hr session. Eric said that Alex has some bad habits that need to be addressed but that he's trainable. Alex was not girthy and Eric said that Alex didn't have saddle fit issues. I just turned 70 yrs old. Alex needs a younger rider who is firm, confident and rides like a trainer. And someone who will take him trail riding or riding on a ranch or low level dressage to utilize his suspension/bouncy trot. He's wormed, had his teeth floated (sharp points addressed), and vaccinated. And scoped for ulcers. PPE July 2025. No maintenance. Asking $7500; or best offer; to good home only. Location: Los Osos Valley, near Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo, California.
