"Joey" is a quiet, gentlemanly colt. We joke that he is an old man in a foal's body. He is easy to handle and willing to go along with just about anything we ask -- a true amateur friendly brain in this baby. His trot is lovely with good elasticity and reach, walk is forward and clean, and canter is uphill. His type and conformation both scored him an 8.0 at his Westfalen inspection, and the inspectors said he was promising prospect, and once he finds his true balance on his exceptionally long legs, he will be even more powerful. We expect Joey will be 17+ at maturity. Joey's half sister by same dam was a premium foal at the Westfalen inspection, and recently reserve champion filly in hand at Dressage at Lexington with a 79%, which qualifies her for USDF Breeders Championship finals at Devon, where she competed and earned excellent scores and was 6th overall in the Westfalen class. Joey's sire, Finnigan, has three outstanding gaits and won his 14 day stallion test in 2016 with exceptionally high scores for character (10) and rideability (9.5). Of note, while Finnigan is by the Grand Prix dressage stallion Florencio, Finnigan himself presented himself well over jumps at his stallion licensing with a jumping score of 7.23. Joey's dam, Lynbrooke, is a full JC thoroughbred who is approved Mare Book 1 with Westfalen. Lynbrooke goes back to the well lauded Giant's Causeway -- a stallion known for making excellent sport horses in a variety of fields. Lynbrooke herself has comported herself well as a dressage horse with an uphill trot and an exceptionally straight and balanced canter. With the thoroughbred blood from his dam and Finnigan's versatility as a sire, Joey could easily go in multiple directions for dressage or eventing.
