Ruger is a very attractive, Taylor made AQHA 12 year old, 14.2 hand gelding. This horse is a saint! Always gentle and kind hearted. Well bred, well put together with a kind eye and a quiet mind. He’s an easy keeper, is very user-friendly to ride and so easy to love! He rides out easy with a good one hand neck rein and goes the speed you ask. He is soft in the bridle, has a smooth, easy to sit jog and lopes out collected, on cue in both directions. He has a big stop and pivots around nicely. Side passes with ease to open and close gates as well. In an urban environment, Ruger is completely at ease and is unconcerned about everything we have encountered, from fast passing vehicles of every shape and size to the barking dogs, farm animals, bicycles motorcycles, landscaping equipment, you name it. He is equally awesome on the trail. With a sure footed walk he picks his way through rocky terrain like the pro that he is. Will lead or follow. Rides quietly in any position of a group as well as out alone. He crosses rushing rivers to small creeks and will climb any big hill you point him at. Outstanding to ride in rugged terrain as he pays attention and always takes good care of his rider. Ruger is just as versatile as he is talented. A true go to for any and all jobs on the Ranch. From Sorting, gathering, branding to pasture doctoring he does it all with ease. He’s also been heeled on in the roping arena. He’s also the perfect gentleman on the ground. He stands for the farrier, baths, tacking, mounting and will stand tied all day and loads right up in the trailer. With his quiet, willing to please personality he will fit a lot of different riders.
