Hank the Tank is a big, thick made 16.0 hand, 13 year old grade quarter horse Dun gelding. We have the dam and Sire info however they never did bother to register him. This is a very gentle gelding that’s user friendly to ride. If you prefer more slow then go, you will really enjoy Hank. As far as arena riding goes Hank will have a good one hand neck rein, will move off of hand and leg cues well and will side pass with ease. He has a nice slow jog, will lope out when asked (although he prefers to not exert that much energy!) He takes his leads, stops and backs good as well. When riding in urban environments Hank is good about all fast passing vehicles, the mini farm animals or barking dogs. He is equally solid to ride out on our mountain trails. Will lead, follow ride peacefully in a group as well as out on his own. He navigates our steep, rugged terrain, very well and is surefooted in the rocks and in steep terrain. He will cross water and dead fall. Hank was a one owner horse and lived on a ranch in South Dakota. He had been used for checking fences, gathering cattle, sorting and occasionally doctoring cattle. He ground ties really well, is good for the farrier and will stand tied quietly for tacking up and mounting, loads and hauls great and has no bad habits or vices. Hank is a really kind peaceful safe, sane and 100% sound gelding.
