For Sale: 14-Year-Old Grade Paint Gelding – Project Horse with Potential
Are you an experienced rider looking for your next project? This 14-year-old, 15HH grade paint gelding might just be the one. He’s got a lot of potential and needs a confident, knowledgeable partner to bring out his best.
About Him:
• Age & Size: 14 years old, 15 hands
• Temperament: He can be sweet and willing but definitely needs consistency. He does love a good snuggle and will be your best friend. He tends to be the alpha in the herd and can get pushy if allowed (really, what horse isn’t…). He’s more of a “whoa than go” type but isn’t suitable for beginners. He did bolt once in the past, so he needs a rider who can handle a horse that sometimes tests boundaries. Stands tied. Loads. Stands for farrier. First to meet you at the gate. Easy to catch. No buck. No rear. Very little spook and isn’t watchy.
Experience Level: This gelding is ideal for someone with intermediate to advanced experience. He’s a project horse who will flourish with the right, experienced person who has the time and consistency to work with him.
Potential: He’s not a show horse, but he has the potential to become a solid trail companion or ranch horse and a wonderful partner for the right rider. We’re not in a hurry to sell, and we’ll be very selective about his new home. He’s being sold to truly no fault of his own, we just need to focus on other projects.
